Recovery Day

So I did not tell a lot of people this, but I had surgery yesterday! I had a vulvar mass removed {which is in my groin area-probably why I didn't tell anyone} and my Doctor removed it yesterday at Alta View Hospital. Today I am lying in bed recovering and getting through the pain of the stitches. Regan is so awesome-he took the kids on a picnic today! He looked so cute and funny wearing the baby bjorn with Ellie in it! He is a good dad!

Now back to the surgery; my Doctor is having the mass examined in a lab and so we will get the biopsy results next week to see if it is anything we need to be worried about or not. Basically, I felt a lump a while ago-actually when I was pregnant with Ellie is when I first felt it, but my Doctor told me it was an inflamed vein. Now that Ellie is 7 months and it was still there, I went to the Doctor a few weeks ago to have him examine it. He put me on an antibiotic to see if it would go down, but 10 days later, nothing happened. SO-he scheduled me for surgery and wanted to remove it, stitch it back up and then have it go in for a biopsy.

He told me no exercising for 2 weeks and I am totally bummed about that because I have been on a role with exercising! I am not going to lie though, I have been scared the last few days. I am trying to not think about it too much, but anytime you have some kind of mass or lump, you always think of cancer right? Well, I don't know what it is, and I am determined to freak out until I find out what it is. It's probably nothing, but I am still thinking worst case scenerio I guess.

Anyway, the few people who do know about it aka-my mom, dad & mother in law, and a couple of friends have been super supportive and great about this. Regan has been so great too-he stayed at the hospital all afternoon with me and has taken over with the kids at home. He is a great husband and I am grateful for him! Just thought I would blog about my life and what is going on. I am hoping for the best with the lab results and until then, trying to take it easy as best as I can so that the incision will heal well.

Happy Mothers Day 2009

Well, I had a great Mothers Day-we had Regan's family over for breakfast in the morning, went to Church with his mom and Grandma, then had my family over for dinner! I actually love having things over at our house because it makes me have everything organized and looking good! Anyway, I was a little bummed throughout the day since Regan didn't give me a card or anything...especially when I went to Relief Society and all of the ladies are telling the special things their husbands did...and reading ladies blogs etc. but I guess I just need to learn how to be patient. On Tuesday, Regan gave me my Mothers Day present and it was worth the wait! IT is so cute and I am excited to start wearing it! Thanks Hunny! Love ya!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Yesterday, I went to the Oquirrh Mountain temple to volunteer at the open house, but when I arrived, they informed us that there would be no general authorities or dignitaries at the temple that day. They gave us a very extensive tour of the temple and told us where everything had come from. WOW-it was truly amazing to go through the temple in a tour like that. They told us to come back and bring our families, so at 5:00, Regan and I brought the 3 kids and had a great, non-rushed tour of the beautiful temple. It was so neat to tell the kids that this is OUR temple and that we will be able to come here whenever we want! It was also so neat to say that we will be together forever because we are all sealed in the temple! WOW-blessings from the temple are amazing! We are so blessed!

Spring Recital

On Saturday, I had my annual Spring Solo Recital in my backyard with every single one of my students! I had no idea that I teach so many students until I printed out the program and counted 17 students! WOW! I just feel so blessed that I am able to be a stat at home mom, and teach 17 violin students at the same time! It really wouldn't work if it weren't for my amazing children! The girls usually nap during the afternoon lessons, and Riley likes to play with my violin students siblings that come to lessons, or just have some quiet time. I love teaching violin and I just feel so blessed! This is a picture with me and all of my students! Life is good!

{We had 40 chairs in the backyard and the kids played on the top of the rock wall as a stage! It was a gorgeous day and we had a great turn out!}

Spring Family Pictures!

I've been told that I am a bit obsessed with family pictures...I look at it as documenting my families life! Okay--I just LOVE getting family pictures and I love hanging them all over my home! I also have to admit that I have the Cutest kids on the earth! WOW-they are beautiful and I have no problem admitting that! I mean, come on...they seriously could be models! {Can you tell I am a bit of a proud mom?}

Anyway, enjoy the slideshow of Spring Family pictures 2009!
Love, Andrea
