This past weekend, we took the family on a very quick trip to Burley, Idaho for the SpudMan Triathlon! We got to the triathlon at 6 in the morning and me and the kids camped out as we waited for him to start and finish his race! Luckily, there was a little park where Riley played with lots of kids and Sunny and I sat on our chairs and read books.
Regan told me that he was predicting that his time would be a little under 3 hours so I was thinking to go to the finish line before then. Next thing you know, I hear Regan's name on the loud speaker, so I run with the kids over to see him which was obviouslly too late! I felt so bad that I missed him at the finish line! His time was great though! If he predicted to do a 3 hour olympic triathlon and got 2 hours and 22 minutes, that is GREAT!
One thing that wasn't so great is that a 60 year old man died in the swim at the SpudMan and I was right there when the scuba divers found him and they performed CPR on him! I was just waiting for Regan to finish when they brought him out of the boat onto the marina that I was by and I got so emotional! The swim in a traithlon is pretty scary since you are not wearing a life jacket. Anyway, I was very grateful and relieved when I saw Regan and gave him a hug after he finished his triathlon!

Way to go Regan! What a crazy race...I was freaking out because Alan was almost an hour late finishing! I got there and started hearing all the rumors of the drowning and I felt sick with every minute that passed and I didn't see Alan come across the finish line! I was about to go and find one of the officials and then spotted Alan's sister and she told me that he didn't even get to do the swim and that our friend Bryan saw him on his bike. I was SO relieved!! I bet that it was so scary to see it all happen. I'm really glad to see that Regan got such an awesome time though! YEAH!!
