My calling in my ward is the organist. Obviouslly my ward is dificient in piano/organ players because I am not that great of a pianist, let alone organist. Well anyway, today I was playing the organ in church and when it was time to play the introduction of the closing hymn, I went to play on the keys, but I could barely hear the notes coming out. I tried over and over, so finally I decided to press a button called tutti thinking that it would make the pedal louder! Boy did it make it louder!!!!
I woke up everyone in the congregation and probably a few people a few rooms down because that first note after I pushed the tutti button was SO LOUD!! The bishop even jumped up in his seat because it probably freaked him out hearing such a loud note in a sacrement meeting!
My face was SO red and afterwards, I think people were thinking, "is it appropriate to laugh right now or not?" Our dear Stake President was also sitting right in front of the organ, and I am wondering what he thought of this most embarrasing mistake!!
I guess it's like what my mom said. I am not getting paid to play the organ in church, all I can do is my very best, and if that means I have to wake a few people up in church every once and a while, I guess that is my best!

Haha Andrea! You are so brave! I heard that the organ is so hard! I bet that you brightened everyone's day!!
I LOVED IT! Andrea, I was feeling so badly for you while you were trying to find the "loud" button. But then you did! I just had to giggle. I loved your cute red cheeks. It made me recognize that we all make mistakes! It's great to have people notice that you are doing your very best. Ya, your not getting paid and I think you are doing a FANTASTIC job. Sorry, I have no talent so I can't help you out. Just remember, no one will remember it...but now you have a great story to tell!! Your awesome!!
There was something wrong with the organ yesterday! Our organist couldn't get it to play either! Anyone who thinks it's easy to get up in front of people and play are welcome to do it! I'm sure you play just fine! Even the piano is difficult enough! The organ is a totally different issue!
I must have been too worried about my kids behaving, because I did not even notice at all! I think you are doing a great job up there.
I thought it was great! You added a little bit of fun and excitement to sacrament meeting. I couldn't help but chuckle! You really do a great job, I know I could never do it, so keep up the good work.
Oh, I could not stop laughing. That is so funny!
Andrea - you are so funny we felt so nervous for you. But it ended up so funny and everyone has a great story to share. ;)
