Well, our little Baby Emery wanted to make his entrance into this world a different way!!! I was dialated to a 4 and 80% ephased for a week, and was just thinking that this baby would come any minute! When that didn't happen, I scheduled an induction date...Friday May 6th was supposed to be the day. On Wednesday, May 4th, I went to the hospital for my last routine exam before I was going to be induced. Thinking that I was still at a 4, and that this baby was NOT going to come out without help, I went to my Dr. appointment with little Elle. During the exam, she just played with her little dollies and my Dr. couldn't believe how good she was! My Dr. then went in to see how far dialated I was...when I looked up at her face, I knew I was not at a 4 anymore. She said, "Oh my gosh, you are dialated to an 8 right now!!!" I thought she was kidding and she said, "I am not kidding, you will have your baby soon!!" I asked her if I could drive Elle home, and she said that there was no way I could leave the hospital and to walk down the hall to labor and delivery right then! By now, my mind was just racing! I knew Regan was at least an hour and a half away at a meeting, I had Elle, and I had carpool for Riley that day, and I was supposed to pick Sunny up from preschool soon!
Looking back, I think it is so funny that this baby decided to come early. I was planning on getting all of my last minute things done on this day, clean the house, do the laundrey, get Mothers Day Presents ready, and go to the grocery store! He had a different plan! Fortunatly, Elle had her bag full of dolls! The nurses at labor and delivery were so nice...they kept on giving Elle suckers and making sure she was comfortable. Once we got into our labor room, I put Elle on a chair and told her to play with her dolls and to stay on the chair. The Dr. came in and said that I needed to get an epidural right then because the baby was coming fast. So I had to put my phone down, since I was calling a few neighbors to see if they could take Elle--nobody was available. I then had to call my mom and dad to see if they could get Elle {They live an hour away!!!} and then I had to take care of Riley's carpool, and where Sunny was going after preschool AND to see the location of where Regan was!!!!
I just could not believe that I was getting an epidural with my 2 year old and not my husband! As I crouched into a ball and got my epidural, tears were just welling up in my eyes as I looked at Elle just happy as can be playing with her dolls! I don't remember it being that painful! Maybe its because I didn't have anyone to squeeze! Shortly after the epidural, my Dr. came into the room to break my water! I still could NOT believe that Elle was in the room sharing in the labor experience and not my husband! The whole experience didn't even seem real! Finally, my dad arrived at the hospital to take Elle home, and Regan came to take her place! It was a huge relief! All of the Doctors and nurses could NOT believe how good of a girl Elle was! I was so thankful that she was so good during that part of the labor!
At 3:30, my mom was able to call my brother Robby, who is on a mission in Mexico to make sure that the phone connection would work for mothers day. I was talking to him for about 30 seconds when all of a sudden, I handed the phone to Regan because I knew this baby was coming!!! I felt that urge to push, but a big worry was that I could feel all of the labor pains, which meant that my epidural was not working! I immediatly called the nurse in, she checked me and I was at a 10!!! The Dr. came to give me an epidural boost, but by then it was too late! As I was pushing so hard, I could feel the head, the body moving down, and the placenta coming out! 30 minutes later, our little Emery Bud Fackrell was born!!! He weighed
8 lbs. 7 ounces and 20 inches--my biggest baby by far! It was such an emotional feeling as they placed him on me for the first time!
We had some time to bond with him, and just stare at how cute he was!!! They moved us into a postpartum room where we were finally able to eat something! I was about to throw up since I was so hungry at this point! A while later, our kids came into the room to see Emery! It was the cutest thing to see how they all reacted! They all gave him a kiss, and Elle and Sunny went back and forth holding him. Sunny did not want to let him go! It was so cool to have our picture taken as a family of 6! WOW-I cannot believe that I have 4 kids! Our family is so awesome and I am so blessed to have 4 healthy, beautiful children! That is the best Mothers Day Present I could ever ask for!!!

Thanks for sharing, we were all so glad to hear he is here!!! Sounds like a busy and exciting day, can't wait to meet him. Take care and try and relax if you can with 4 kids now!!!
Holy cow, what a crazy day!! That would have been so stressful and I know if I had Taylor with me she would have been a complete maniac! No amount of dollies could keep her still. I'm glad everything worked out and that you had your husband by your side instead of Ellie coaching you through labor :)
Congrats!!! What a great story I can't wait to see him. You will and are a great mother and now you have four how crazy and fun!!! We miss you guys and can't wait to come visit.
That story is amazing! I love that you documented everything. You did a great job and your baby looks PERFECT!
