Operation: Organize House

Day 1: Sunny & Elle's Room

 Okay, Okay--I am quite embarrassed to show the BEFORE pictures, but it's NOT my fault the girls room is like this!! My sweet, beautiful girls JUST like to PLAY! And I can't help it as the mom of 2 cute girls in a row to get the cute, twinner clothes all of the time, right? Anyway, point is, I have been feeling pretty overwhelmed with my role of cleaning {aka maid} lately. I figure that if my house is SUPER organized & clean, that I will have more time to spend with my cute kids {reading more books, more 1 on 1 violin practicing time together, more playing with toys, more art projects} so my solution to this problem is to do a HUGE clean sweep of every single room, every single closet, and every single nook & cranny of my house. The truth is, we have a lot of STUFF! I have an amazing friend, Manon, that is a great example to me of having a simple life and having an organized life. She is able to just leave her belongings & live in a different country for months at a time...there is NO WAY our family could do that {Well--unless we could take 20 suitcases!} Point is, I am a better mom to my kids if my house is organized & clean! I just have realized that about myself the last 6 months! With 4 kids, I have got to bring my A Game and be the happy, positive, organized, on top of it Mom that my kids deserve. SO--I will be documenting my Clean Sweep on my blog!

When Sunny & Elle "clean" their room, you can always count on the fact that I will be saying many times to them, "Remember, EVERYTHING HAS A SPOT" Dpn't just shove toys in the closet and call it good {which has happened countless times}What do you expect...they are 5 and 3!!!
 Today, I spent a LONG time cleaning their room. I filled up a huge garbage sack of just STUFF! Even though there is still quite a bit of STUFF still left in the room, it is stuff they love to play with, so everything has it's spot will really come into play here in keeping this room CLEAN & ORGANIZED!!! Wish us luck!!!

? to this BLOG POST: is it bad to go around your house every night with a trash bag in hand telling the kids that if anything is left out, it will be going in the trash bag??? I am thinking very seriously of doing this!!! :}

andrea... found your blog... and I just have to comment on your question about the garbage bag and say- IT WORKS!! I pull out a grocery sack give it a couple shakes to open it and say if it isn't put away it's going in this bag... it seriously works and what she won't pick up I do put in the bag and I get rid of it. (honestly Addison has so much stuff she doesn't ever notice) email me your email address adn I'll invite you to our family blog. Alyssa Dean
